Divergent Technologies is significantly expanding its manufacturing presence with the announcement of a new factory in Long Beach, California, set to produce 20,000 long-range munitions structures annually. This move aligns with the Pentagon's push to accelerate weapons manufacturing amidst increased defense needs.
The company has also appointed Ben Nicholson, formerly of Ursa Major, as the new chief commercial officer. CEO Lukas Czinger revealed that the 430,000 square-foot facility will host 64 Monolith One 3D printers, offering an impressive output capacity. This expansion marks an eightfold increase compared to their current production capabilities.
Divergent's engagements include partnerships on cruise missile programs and collaborations with Raytheon and Lockheed Martin on defense projects. As demand for defense products grows, Divergent remains adaptive, with its technologies positioned to cater to various production needs. The new facility is expected to create about 1,000 jobs, substantiating Divergent's rapid growth following a significant funding round last year.
