Hurricanes acquire F Jurco from Panthers

The Carolina Hurricanes acquired forward Tomas Jurco from Florida and dealt forward Cliff Pu to the Panthers in separate trades Monday. In both transactions, the teams are receiving future considerations in return.

Jurco, 26, has four goals and six assists in 14 games this season with the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds. The 2011 second-round pick appeared in 201 NHL games from 2013-18 with the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks, tallying 22 goals and 28 assists.

Pu, 20, has one goal and five assists in 44 games this season with the AHL's Charlotte Checkers. A third-round pick by Buffalo in 2016, Pu was traded to the Hurricanes last August in the deal that sent center Jeff Skinner to the Sabres.
