Pak security forces slammed by VBMP over arbitrary detention of 3 Baloch women

The families of three Baloch women who were reportedly taken into custody last week are continuing to seek information about their whereabouts, as the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) renewed its appeal to the Pakistani authorities for their recovery. The issue was raised during the ongoing VBMP protest camp outside the Quetta Press Club, which has now entered its 6,316th day, as reported by The Balochistan Post.

According to The Balochistan Post, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said the organisation had formally submitted the cases of the three women, Rafia Bibi, Tania and Javeria, to the Missing Persons Commission, as well as to the provincial administration. The three women, who belong to the Nechari tribe, were reportedly detained on July 30 at the Lak Pass Frontier Corps checkpoint near Quetta before being taken to an undisclosed location.

Their relatives have stated that they have received no official confirmation regarding the women's whereabouts or the legal grounds for their reported detention. Speaking at the protest camp, Nasrullah Baloch urged the relevant authorities to take immediate and practical steps to trace the women and facilitate their return to their families.

He expressed hope that both the Missing Persons Commission and the provincial authorities would actively intervene to address the matter, as highlighted by The Balochistan Post. He further maintained that if the three women faced any legal accusations, they should be presented before a competent court in accordance with due process rather than being kept incommunicado.

He argued that following legal procedures would provide clarity to their families and uphold the rule of law, as reported by The Balochistan Post. (ANI)
