Slovakia plans to scrap transaction tax next year, PM Fico says

​Slovak ​Prime Minister ‌Robert Fico ​has asked the finance ‌ministry to prepare steps to scrap a ‌tax on financial transactions ‌from January next year, the prime minister's office ⁠said ​in ⁠a statement on Monday.

Slovakia ⁠introduced the tax ​of 0.4% on account ⁠transfers, business and supply contracts ⁠in ​2025 to help narrow the ⁠budget deficit. It was narrowed ⁠to ⁠companies only from 2026.
