Magnitude 4.8 earthquake strikes near Chile's capital Santiago, EMSC says

An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 ‌struck on ‌Friday Chile's Metropolitan Region, home to capital ⁠city ​Santiago, ⁠the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) ⁠said.

The quake, which ​hit at a depth ⁠of 98 ⁠km (60.89 ​miles), was downgraded from an ⁠initial 5.0 magnitude, according ⁠to ⁠EMSC.
