India records lowest monsoon rainfall in more than a decade

​India ‌recorded its ​lowest monsoon rainfall ‌in more than a decade during the ‌June-September season as ‌the El Niño weather pattern dampened ⁠precipitation, ​a senior ⁠weather department official ⁠told Reuters on ​Wednesday.

The country received 12.6% ⁠below average ⁠rainfall ​during the season, the official ⁠from the state-run India ⁠Meteorological Department ⁠said.
