Rising crime will hurt corporate profits in Mexico over the next 12-18 months, particularly among oil companies and hotels, rating agency Moody's said on Monday, adding to warnings from the financial sector about the health of the economy.
"Increasing insecurity, robbery and travel warnings hurt Mexican companies' top lines and profitability, and will particularly weaken revenue and margins over the next 12-18 months for the oil industry and hotels and resorts," Moody's Vice President Alonso Sanchez said in a statement.
