Penguins sign D Trotman, Czuczman to two-way contracts

The Pittsburgh Penguins re-signed defensemen Zach Trotman and Kevin Czuczman to two-year contracts. Both are two-way contracts with an average annual value of $700,000 at the NHL level.

Trotman, 28, has split the past two seasons between Pittsburgh and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. In 2018-19, Trotman played 13 games in Pittsburgh and had one assist.

Trotman has played in 83 career NHL games with the Boston Bruins (2013-16) and Penguins (2017-19) and has 13 points (three goals, 10 assists). Czuczman, 28, has played in 336 American Hockey League games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Manitoba and Bridgeport, scoring 110 points (22 goals, 88 assists).

He appeared in 13 games for the New York Islanders in the 2013-14 season, recording two assists.
