The Washington Wizards will sign point guard Ish Smith and trade guard Tomas Satoransky to the Chicago Bulls, according to reports on Monday. Shams Charania of The Athletic said Smith will head to Washington on a two-year, $12 million deal. And ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Bulls and Wizards have agreed on a sign-and-trade deal for Satoransky, a restricted free agent who will receive a three-year contract with the Bulls.

Sportando, a basketball website based in Italy, reported the contract is worth about $30 million. The Athletic's David Aldridge said the Wizards will receive two future second-round draft picks in exchange and will have protections removed from the 2023 second-round selected they acquired from the Bulls in the deal for Jabari Parker.

Smith, who turns 31 on Friday, has spent nine well-travelled seasons in the NBA. He played with nine teams before settling in with the Detroit Pistons, joining them before the 2016-17 season. A Wake Forest product, Smith averaged 9.8 points, 4.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 219 games (67 starts) with the Pistons. Satoransky, a 6-foot-7 Czech, played 80 games last season for the Wizards, taking over point guard duties after a season-ending injury to veteran John Wall. He averaged 8.9 points, 5.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds, all career highs.

The Wizards' second-round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Satoransky didn't make his NBA debut until 2016. In 210 games (87 starts) with the Wizards, the 27-year-old averaged 6.6 points, 3.7 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game.
