Cyprus will not forfeit its sovereign rights in east Med-spox

Cyprus said on Wednesday it would not give up its sovereign rights in areas of the eastern Mediterranean, as a row brewed with neighbouring Turkey over offshore oil and gas rights.

"The Republic of Cyprus will certainly not quit its sovereign rights, and our government is mobilising the legal and diplomatic means we have," Cypriot government spokesman Prodromos Prodromou told Greek state tv.
