Tropical Storm Gabrielle forms in Atlantic - NHC

Tropical Depression Eight has strengthened into Storm Gabrielle over the Atlantic, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Wednesday.

Gabrielle is about 680 miles (1,090km) west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands, packing maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour, the NHC said.
