A woman and her paramour have been arrested for allegedly strangling to death another man she was having an affair with in Maharashtra's Nagpur district, police said on Friday.
The police on Thursday arrested Sangita (name changed), a native of Madhya Pradesh, and her paramour Dilip Kashiram Patle for killing Azad Jamsheb Sheikh, an official said.
The accused woman was married and was operating an eatery with her husband in the 14 Mile area, he said.
Dilip, an employee at the eatery, was in a relationship with the woman, who was also having an affair with the victim, the official said. On the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, the victim came to the woman's house where he found her with Dilip and an argument ensued, he said. The accused duo tied a rope around the victim's neck and strangled him and dumped his body outside and returned to their respective houses, the official said, adding that a case under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.
