Two sharpshooters, allegedly belonging to a gang here, have been arrested from west Delhi, police said Monday.

The accused, identified as Pankaj and Karan, said to be members of 'Saddam Gauri' gang were nabbed on Saturday, they said.

On Saturday, around 8:15 pm, a speeding car, coming from Tagore Garden side and going towards the Kukreja Hospital, was found to be moving in a suspicious manner.

When asked to stop by police, the driver tried to escape. Due to traffic, police apprehended the duo, including the driver, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Monika Bharadwaj said.

During interrogation, it was found that both the men used to threaten those who indulged in gambling activities to extort money from them, she said.

Pankaj used to threaten the victims by showing them a video, in which he had allegedly fired during an incident in Uttam Nagar, the officer said.

One car, a country-made pistol, along with three live cartridges and a push button-knife were recovered from their possession, the DCP said.
