UN working to ensure continuity of Ukraine grain deal

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is "doing everything possible" to ensure continuity of a Ukraine Black Sea grain export deal "in the present circumstances," spokesman Stephane Dujarric said on Tuesday.

Russia only wants to renew the agreement for 60 days instead of 120 days.

"The agreement foresees a renewal of 120 days but, in the present circumstances, the Secretary-General and his team are focused, in close contact with all the parties, on doing everything possible to ensure continuity of the initiative," Dujarric said.
