Berlin calls on Moscow to extend grain deal, saying it should continue indefinitely

The German government on Wednesday called on Moscow to extend a deal allowing the export of grain from Ukrainian Black Sea ports beyond 60 days.

Speaking at a regular news conference, a spokesperson said the deal should continue indefinitely.

Since Russia and Ukraine signed the U.N.-backed Black Sea Grain Initiative in Turkey on July 22, millions of tonnes of grain and other food products have been exported from Ukrainian ports, helping lower global food prices from record highs.
