Czech government presents plans to cut 2024 budget deficit

The Czech government agreed a package of spending cuts and tax hikes to reduce the budget deficit next year, Prime Minister Petr Fiala said on Thursday.

Fiala said the budget deficit would be 94 billion crowns ($4.43 billion) higher in 2024 without the consolidation package, which was presented on Thursday alongside planned pension reforms. ($1 = 21.2420 Czech crowns)
