Businessman-politician killed in Pune district

A businessman who headed a local political outfit was killed outside the municipal council building at Talegaon Dabhade in Pune district on Friday afternoon, police said.

Kishor Aware, the deceased, was the founder of the Janseva Vikas Samiti, a political organisation.

When Aware was coming out of the municipal council building around 1.45 pm after attending a meeting, six assailants opened fire on him and later stabbed him in the head, said a police official.

He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead, the official added.

A case was registered at Talegaon Dabhade police station and investigation was on, he said.
