Railway official caught while `taking bribe'

The CBI has arrested a Gujarat-based senior instructor of the Western Railway after he was allegedly caught taking a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a junior official.

The accused had demanded Rs 50,000 for forwarding the complainant's `Mutual Transfer Application' to the Divisional Railway Manager and eventually agreed to accept Rs 40,000, a CBI release said.

After the complainant approached the anti-corruption wing of the CBI, a trap was laid and the official was caught red-handed while taking Rs 25,000, it said. Further probe is on.
