Odisha STF seizes three leopard skins, 1 held

The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police seized three leopard skins and arrested one person on the charge of poaching, an officer said on Thursday.
Based on reliable information the STF conducted a raid on Wednesday and nabbed the alleged wildlife criminal near Siriguda Swargadham Chhaka of Rayagada Town, said Kishore Panigrahi SP of STF.
The SP said during the search three leopard hide and other incriminating materials were seized from the possession of the wildlife criminal.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and Sec 51 of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972.
Panigrahi said the leopard skins will be sent to Director WII, Derhadun for biological examination.
