Vice president to confer National Water Awards on Saturday
The statement said that as part of the ongoing nationwide drive to realise the governments vision of a Jal Samridh Bharat or Water Prosperous India, the National Water Awards focus is on encouraging the good work and efforts made by various individuals and organisations.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will confer the fourth National Water Awards on Saturday.
There are 41 winners, including joint winners, in 11 categories and they will be given a citation and a trophy, according to an official statement. There are cash prizes in certain categories, it said.
The first prize for the best state will be given to Madhya Pradesh, best district will be given to Ganjam district of Odisha and best village panchayat will be given to Jagannadhapuram Village Panchayat of Telangana's Bhadradri Kothagudem district. The statement said that as part of the ongoing nationwide drive to realise the government's vision of a 'Jal Samridh Bharat' or 'Water Prosperous India', the National Water Awards' focus is on encouraging the good work and efforts made by various individuals and organisations. It seeks to create awareness among people about the importance of water and motivate them to adopt best water use practices, it said.
With the objective of encouraging various stakeholders towards adopting a holistic approach towards water resource management in the country, it was considered necessary to set up an integrated National Water Award, the statement said.
