Germany's Scholz: won't stand in way of EU making progress on asylum rules

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Thursday he did not want it to be his government's fault if negotiations in Brussels on rules on migrants and refugees did not move forward.

"The government also agrees that it will not be Germany's fault if the last building block of the entire work is not launched for negotiations," said Scholz in Berlin during a news conference with the president of Kazakhstan.
