UP: Police arrest man accused of thrashing Dalit boy in Jaunpur

An accused who was among those who allegedly thrashed a 14-year-old Dalit boy and forced his to drink urine was on Monday arrested, police said. One Aditya Singh, who was among the accused has been arrested, SHO, Sujanganj police station, Rohit Kumar Mishra said. He said after the complaint of victim Aginivesh's father Brijesh Gautam, police booked four people including Aditya Singh and two unidentified under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and also sections of the SC/ST Act. A cross FIR has also been field in the case by Ashok Singh father of Aditya who alleged that Agnivesh and his accomplice were involved in eve teasing while his daughter was returning from the school. An FIR was filed against the boy and his friend, a minor, on the basis of that complaint. SHO Mishra had on Sunday said that the allegation that Agnivesh was forced to drink urine was found to be untrue. ''The claim that the minor was forced to consume urine has been found to be incorrect in the preliminary investigation,'' he had said.
