U.S. investor Calvey says he never pleaded guilty to Russian embezzlement charge

U.S. investor Michael Calvey on Thursday described a Russian court's decision to reduce his sentence over embezzlement charges he denies as fair, and insisted that he had never pleaded guilty in the case.

Calvey, in a statement shared to Reuters by a representative, said his lawyers had filed an appeal in court for a reduced punishment. He rejected reports by Russian news agencies that he had changed his plea to guilty.
