US lawmaker Gallagher says backlog of arms deliveries to Taiwan remains a big problem

U.S. Representative Mike Gallagher, who chairs the House of Representatives select committee on China, said in Taipei on Thursday the United States needs to ensure the delivery of weapons to Taiwan and that a backlog of arms deliveries remains a big problem.

Gallagher, who is being accompanied by four other U.S. lawmakers on a trip ending on Saturday, has been a strong supporter of Taiwan and a fierce critic of China. (Reporting By Ben Blanchard; Editing by Tom Hogue)
