The Democratic and Republican leaders of the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee said on Wednesday they were encouraged by the House's passage of a bill that would force TikTok's Chinese owner ByteDance to divest from the app's U.S. assets or face a ban.
"(We) look forward to working together to get this bill passed through the Senate and signed into law," Senators Mark Warner and Marco Rubio, the committee's Democratic chair and Republican vice chair, said in a joint statement.
