Riot police begin clearing protesters from around Georgian parliament

Riot police in Georgia on Tuesday waded into protesters denouncing a bill aiming at designating certain groups "foreign agents" and began clearing them from the ex-Soviet state's parliament building, a Reuters witness said. Officers, some carrying shotguns, ordered protesters to disperse and deployed what appeared to be a crowd-control substance like pepper spray.

Protesters fled the area and within minutes the rear of the building was cleared of demonstrators.
