German Finance Minister Christian Lindner has urged the European Union to prioritize the development of a capital markets union, calling it essential for further European integration. He emphasized this point during an event in Frankfurt, stressing its importance for the incoming EU Commission.

German Finance Minister Christian Lindner on Tuesday called for a greater progress towards an EU capital markets union as a required next step for European integration.

"The next European Union Commission must put the capital markets union at the top of its priorities list," he said at an event in Frankfurt.
