The Hawks' Pretoria-based team, in collaboration with the Arcadia Crime Prevention Unit and Tshwane District Crime Intelligence, have apprehended two additional suspects linked to the tragic murder of Ditebogo Phalane Junior, a five-year-old boy killed during a car hijacking in Soshanguve, Tshwane.

The two suspects, aged 29 and 30, were arrested in Soshanguve and Atteridgeville on Monday. These arrests bring the total number of suspects in custody for Ditebogo's murder to four.

According to the Hawks, the arrests followed information provided by Crime Intelligence regarding the whereabouts of the suspects involved in the tragic incident.

Warrant Officer Wendy Nkabi, spokesperson for the Hawks, stated, "One of the firearms is alleged to be the murder weapon used in the murder of Ditebogo Phalane but that will be confirmed once the firearms have been sent for testing. One of the suspects is believed to have been out on bail for alleged hijacking, attempted murder, and possession of unlicensed firearm."

The suspects are set to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Wednesday for their initial court appearance. The investigation into Ditebogo Phalane Junior's murder continues as authorities work to bring justice to the family and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
