Grandson Allegedly Attacks 79-Year-Old Over Missing Cat in Thrissur

In a troubling incident in Edakkulam, Thrissur, a 79-year-old man named Kesavan was allegedly hacked and injured by his grandson, Sreekumar, over a dispute about a missing pet cat, authorities reported on Sunday.

Kesavan sustained multiple injuries to his head, hands, and legs and is currently recovering at a government medical college. Police confirmed that the incident occurred on Saturday night, and Kesavan's condition is stable.

According to Kesavan’s statement, an argument erupted between him and Sreekumar, who is in his late 20s, over the lost pet. In a rage, Sreekumar allegedly attacked his grandfather with a weapon. Despite his actions, Sreekumar rushed his injured grandfather to the hospital himself, where police then took him into custody. Police also noted that Sreekumar was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the attack.
