In a significant judicial decision, the Delhi High Court has dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) against the appointment of Subhransu Sekhar Acharya as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the National Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd (NSIDC).

Presided over by Acting Chief Justice Manmohan, the bench clarified that a PIL was not maintainable in service-related matters, thus refusing to entertain the plea brought forward.

Petitioner Saddam Ali claimed the appointment violated the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises' advertisement criteria, but the court dismissed these contentions, asserting that legality challenges should come from non-appointees.
