Nine Naxalites Arrested in Chhattisgarh Over IED Attack on Police

Nine Naxalites, including five allegedly involved in a recent IED blast targeting police, were arrested in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh. Those arrested face allegations of murder, extortion, and planting explosives. Large rewards were offered for several of the individuals apprehended.

In a significant development, Chhattisgarh police have arrested nine Naxalites in the Bijapur district, including five accused of orchestrating an IED blast targeting police last month.

The arrests were made in Mandem-Kuprel villages under the Farsegarh police station area and from within the Madded police station limits, according to a statement released on Wednesday.

Among those arrested, several cadres are alleged to have committed murder, planted explosive devices, and extorted illegal levies. Police recovered explosives, safety fuses, gelatin sticks, and Maoist literature during the operation.
