Six Naxalites Killed in Major Encounter in Chhattisgarh's Bastar Division

Six Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh. The deceased, part of the proscribed Communist Party of India (Maoist), had a bounty of Rs 38 lakh. The confrontation, which involved multiple battalions and police districts, resulted in the recovery of weapons and explosives.

Six Naxalites, including three women, were neutralized by security forces in a significant operation in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, police officials reported on Saturday. The deceased were members of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist) and carried a collective bounty of Rs 38 lakh.

The clash occurred near Gobel and Thulthuli villages under Orcha police station limits on Friday. Initially, the toll was reported as seven but later corrected to six. Those killed belonged to military company number 6 of the PLGA and the East Bastar division formations of the CPI (Maoist).

The operation was executed by combined teams from the police's District Reserve Guard, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force. Upon searching the site, authorities recovered six bodies in uniform along with weapons, explosives, and other supplies, indicating further Naxal casualties or injuries.
