Illicit Liquor Seized on Express Train: Two Arrested

Two individuals were arrested with 260 bottles of illicit liquor onboard an express train at Bandra terminus. The Western Railway's vigilance team seized the contraband, which was being transported to hotels in Surat, Gujarat. The accused and the seized liquor were handed over to the Government Railway Police for further legal action.

In a significant operation, Western Railway officials apprehended two individuals carrying 260 bottles of illicit liquor on the Jammu Tawi Vivek Express at Bandra terminus this Saturday, an official disclosed on Sunday.

According to the official, the vigilance team intercepted the suspects as they were transporting the illegal consignment to hotels in Surat, Gujarat, where the sale and consumption of liquor are prohibited.

The apprehended individuals, who admitted to their roles as carriers, along with the contraband, have been turned over to the Government Railway Police in Surat for further legal proceedings.
