On Monday, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann addressed the controversial incident involving CISF woman constable Kulwinder Kaur, who allegedly slapped actor and BJP MP-elect Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport.
Mann suggested that Kaur's anger might have been fueled by Ranaut's previous remarks on the farmers' protests. However, Mann stressed that this act of violence was inappropriate and should not have happened.
This marks the Chief Minister’s first public response to the incident, emphasizing that irrespective of one’s status—be it a film actor or a parliament member—it is incorrect to label Punjab as a terrorist state. Mann reiterated the importance of recognizing Punjab’s contributions to the nation, condemning the tendency to brand protestors as terrorists.
