Elevation of Gauhati HC Additional Judges to Permanent Status

Two additional judges of the Gauhati High Court, Justices Susmita Phukan Khaund and Mitali Thakuria, have been elevated to permanent judges. In a related notice, the law ministry also extended the term of Justice Rajesh Sekhri as an additional judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh by one year, effective from July 29, 2024. Typically, additional judges serve for a period of two years before being considered for permanent status.
