The Superintendent of Police for Udaipur, Yogesh Goyal, reported that the licensed store, situated on the first floor of a modest two-storey building, was the site of the fatal blast.

According to Goyal, the explosion happened on the staircase leading up to the first floor, instantly killing the shop owner, Rajendra, and another man, believed to be a part-time worker. The force of the blast flung Rajendra's mutilated body nearly 30 feet across the road. An FSL team is on-site to investigate the cause of the explosion, which remains undetermined at this time. The incident has left the local community in a state of panic.
