Jharkhand Engineer Nabbed for Bribe in Farm Pond Case

Anuj Kumar Ravi, an assistant engineer in Jharkhand's Garwah district, was apprehended by the ACB while accepting a bribe to clear a payment under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. He was caught red-handed and has been forwarded to judicial custody.

In a crucial development on Wednesday, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jharkhand's Palamu unit apprehended Anuj Kumar Ravi, an assistant engineer, while he was accepting a bribe. Ravi, who also serves as a block programming officer in Chinia Block of Garwah district, was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 5,000 to clear a payment.

Sources revealed that Ravi had demanded this bribe to clear dues for work executed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. The complainant, unwilling to comply with the demand, alerted the ACB.

ACB officials, after verifying the complaint, conducted a sting operation at Ravi's residence in Kanchanpur, resulting in his arrest. He has since been forwarded to judicial custody, confirmed Sadique Rizvi, Superintendent of Police, ACB (Palamu).
