National Conference president Farooq Abdullah reiterated on Wednesday that terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir will not cease unless India engages in dialogue with Pakistan. His statement came on the heels of three consecutive terrorist attacks in the region.

On Sunday, terrorists attacked a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi, resulting in nine deaths and 41 injuries. Subsequently, an assault on a joint checkpost in Doda injured six security personnel. Late Tuesday, a suspected Pakistani terrorist was neutralized in Kathua, with an overnight encounter ending in the death of another terrorist and the loss of a CRPF jawan.

''Terrorism will persist unless there's an understanding between India and Pakistan,'' Abdullah said. He highlighted the tragedy of innocent lives lost and urged immediate action. Referring to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's recent comments on border issues, Abdullah emphasized that dialogue is the only viable solution.
