Massive search operations continued on Thursday across various forest belts in Jammu and Kashmir as security forces intensify efforts to track down and neutralize terrorists involved in recent attacks, officials said.

Police and paramilitary forces launched searches in the Narwal bypass area on Jammu's outskirts following a report of suspicious movements, they said.

Over the past four days, terrorists struck in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda districts, killing nine pilgrims and a CRPF jawan, and injuring seven security personnel and several others. Two suspected Pakistani terrorists were also killed during an encounter in Kathua, with a large cache of arms and ammunition recovered from them.

In Doda district's areas like Kota top in Gandoh and Chattagalla, search operations resumed Thursday morning. Seven security personnel, including two police officers, were injured in separate gunfights with terrorists on Tuesday and Wednesday. As of now, there has been no fresh contact with the fleeing terrorists.

Police had earlier released sketches of four terrorists involved in two district attacks, offering a Rs 20 lakh reward for information leading to their arrest. A cash reward and sketch were also announced for a terrorist involved in Sunday's bus attack in Reasi, which resulted in nine deaths and 41 injuries.

Searches extend to Reasi and Rajouri districts, with one individual detained for resembling a terrorist's sketch.

Security forces in Kathua, Samba, and Jammu districts are on alert following intelligence inputs about a potential terror threat, they said.

During a gunfight in Kathua lasting over 15 hours, two terrorists were neutralized, a CRPF jawan was killed, and a civilian was injured. Police had advised Jammu residents to stay alert to suspicious activity, citing intelligence reports on possible threats in Rajouri and Jammu areas.
