Kannada Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa's Custody Extended in Renukaswamy Murder Case

A Bengaluru court extended the police custody of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and three others related to the Renukaswamy murder case. Darshan, accused of giving Rs 30 lakh for body disposal to another accused, has been linked to the brutal crime. Evidence, including CCTV footage, supports the allegations.

A Bengaluru court has extended the police custody of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and three other accused in the Renukaswamy murder case by an additional two days.

Dhanaraj, Vinay, and Pradosh, along with Darshan, face serious allegations. Notably, several other accused, including Darshan's friend Pavithra Gowda, have been remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody.

The case involves a total of 17 people, who were produced before Judge Vishwanath C Goudar as their initial police custody concluded. The gruesome murder reportedly stemmed from obscene messages sent to Gowda by Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan. In reaction, Darshan allegedly plotted the murder, giving Rs 30 lakh to an accomplice for the body’s disposal and to conceal his involvement.
