Three sympathisers of the Maoist movement have surrendered themselves to Odisha Police in the Malkangiri district, citing robust police action as the chief reason for giving up. Identified as Deva Madvi (18), Adma Madkami (24), and Muka Sodi (25) from Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, their surrender marks a significant development amidst intensified security operations on both sides of the border.

The Border Security Force (BSF) has also played a pivotal role in this crackdown, recently busting a Maoist weapons cache near Dulagandi village under Kalimela police station in Malkangiri district. BSF personnel recovered an assortment of weapons and explosive materials, including three single-barrel muzzle loader (SBML) guns, one SBML barrel, four electric detonators, 98 gelatin sticks, and two mines among other items.

The BSF continues to conduct comprehensive combing and search operations in the area to curb further insurgencies, according to police sources.
