Justice Gokuldas Initiates Inquiry into Fatal Hooch Tragedy
Justice B Gokuldas has commenced an inquiry into the hooch tragedy in Kallakurichi that claimed 47 lives, with 117 people still receiving treatment. The retired judge, who visited the Kallakurichi Government Medical College Hospital, refrained from commenting on the investigation. A report will be submitted within three months.

Justice B Gokuldas, heading the one-man commission on the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy, began his formal inquiry on Friday. The tragedy has resulted in 47 fatalities and numerous hospitalizations.
During his visit to Kallakurichi Government Medical College Hospital, the retired Madras High Court judge declined to comment, noting that the inquiry is at a preliminary stage. He assured that a report will be submitted within three months.
Chief Minister M K Stalin informed the State Assembly that 117 out of the 164 affected are still under medical supervision across multiple hospitals. Investigations continue to shed light on the tragic incident.
