Congress Demands Resignation Over NEET Irregularities

Congress workers protested in Ranchi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, citing alleged irregularities in the NEET exam. Congress workers on Sunday gathered at Ranchi's Albert Ekka Chowk to burn an effigy of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protest, spearheaded by state Congress president Rajesh Thakur, was in response to alleged irregularities in the NEET exam.

Thakur addressed reporters, demanding Pradhan's resignation and the cancellation of NEET 2024. He criticized the BJP government at the Centre, accusing them of not cancelling the NEET-UG exam due to the involvement of several BJP leaders.

The NEET-UG exam, held on May 5 by the National Testing Agency, saw about 24 lakh candidates. However, allegations of question paper leaks led to investigations in places like Hazaribag and Ranchi, with Bihar Police detaining six individuals in connection with these allegations in Jharkhand's Deoghar district.
