Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Leader of the Opposition V D Satheesan on Sunday expressed their heartfelt condolences over the tragic demise of CRPF soldier R Vishnu. Vishnu lost his life when Naxalites detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) targeting a truck in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district.

Vishnu, who served with the CRPF's elite jungle warfare unit CoBRA, was among the two victims of the blast. In an emotional message, Vijayan affirmed his solidarity with Vishnu's grieving family. Satheesan, in a poignant Facebook post, honored the fallen soldier, pledging that his sacrifice for the nation would never be forgotten.

BJP leader and former Union Minister V Muraleedharan assured that the necessary steps are being taken to bring Vishnu's mortal remains back to his hometown in Kerala. The Chhattisgarh police detailed that the blast occurred around 3 pm near Timmapuram village, emphasizing ongoing search operations in the area.
