Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena assured Aam Aadmi Party leaders on Sunday that he will strive to resolve the city's ongoing water crisis. Emphasizing the need for cooperation over blame, Saxena stressed that dialogue with the Haryana Government is essential for a temporary water supply until the monsoons arrive.
Raj Niwas officials revealed that the MPs and MLAs in the delegation requested the L-G to urge Haryana for an extra water supply. Saxena assured them he would discuss the issue with the Haryana Chief Minister, who seemed open to addressing the situation.
The AAP delegation demonstrated the urgent need by highlighting the shortfall of 113 million gallons per day from Haryana to Delhi. With the water allocation from the Yamuna River up for renewal in 2025, Saxena stressed that any solution must come from mutual understanding and cooperation, not accusations and blame.
