Strategic Deployment for Safe Amarnath Yatra

Thirty-eight Mountain Rescue Teams will be deployed for the Amarnath Yatra starting June 29. A senior police official briefed the teams from various security and disaster forces on their duties, emphasizing pilgrims' safety and the importance of preparedness in light of recent climate challenges.

In a comprehensive briefing, officials have announced the deployment of thirty-eight Mountain Rescue Teams for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, starting June 29. The annual pilgrimage will see teams from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, SDRF, NDRF, BSF, and CRPF strategically stationed to ensure the safety of over 4.5 lakh expected pilgrims.

Officials highlighted the importance of preparedness and effective gear for the MRTs, with special focus on waterproof clothing and training readiness. Emphasis was placed on the critical role these teams play in managing disaster situations, especially in light of new climate-related challenges.

The senior officer reiterated that the rescue operations are not just a duty but a noble act of assisting pilgrims on their sacred journey, stressing the spiritual significance and the need for dedication and respect in performing their roles.
