Twelve Naxalites, Including Bounty Couple, Surrender in Bijapur

Twelve Naxalites, including a couple with a Rs 6 lakh reward on their heads, surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district. Disappointed by Maoist atrocities, they turned themselves in to police and CRPF officials. The surrendered individuals will receive rehabilitation benefits as per state policy.

In a notable development in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, twelve Naxalites, including a couple with a bounty of Rs 6 lakh on their heads, surrendered to authorities on Saturday.

The insurgents cited disillusionment with Maoist atrocities and the 'inhuman' ideology as their reasons for giving up arms, according to district superintendent of police Jitendra Kumar Yadav.

Among the surrendered individuals were key members of Maoist committees, with some carrying substantial rewards. They are now set to receive financial aid and rehabilitation benefits from the state government.
