UP STF Nabs Notorious Criminal on the Run for Three Years

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrested a notorious criminal, Munna Lal Rai, who had been evading capture for over three years. He was wanted for multiple violent crimes, including two murder cases. Rai was apprehended by the Noida unit of STF in Sector 58, and was known for his extreme brutality and frequent location changes.

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Sunday successfully apprehended Munna Lal Rai, a notorious criminal evading law enforcement for over three years. The capture, executed by the Noida unit of the STF in Sector 58, marks a significant breakthrough for the state police.

Rai, also known as Munna Rai, had a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head. Authorities said he was wanted in connection with two murder cases in Begusarai, Bihar, and faced multiple charges, including rioting, criminal intimidation, and violations of the Arms Act and the SC-ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

A police spokesperson detailed Rai's violent modus operandi, highlighting his frequent use of firearms and gang activities, characterized by extreme brutality. To evade law enforcement, he constantly changed locations, making his capture particularly challenging.
