Man Arrested in Bus While Fleeing Disguised as Woman

The Odisha Police arrested a man who was attempting to flee after attacking his wife and her brother by boarding a bus dressed as a woman. His stubble exposed him to fellow passengers, who raised an alarm and informed the police. He was previously acquitted of a separate homicide case.

In a dramatic turn of events, the Odisha Police on Monday apprehended a man attempting to elude capture after assaulting his wife and her brother. The accused, disguised in a woman's attire, was on a bus when his cover was blown.

The 42-year-old suspect, identified as Bikram Das, sat among women passengers, masked in a blue kameez, pink leggings, and a dupatta. His stubble, however, betrayed his identity, prompting a neighboring passenger to raise the alarm.

Das's attempt to flee failed as other passengers thwarted his escape and alerted the authorities. Pradeep Pradhan of Kenrapara district police confirmed Das's arrest. Das, who has a prior history of arrests for serious offenses, was remanded to jail custody after his bail plea was rejected.
