Allahabad High Court lawyers abstained from judicial work on Wednesday to spotlight several issues they face.
The boycott, initiated by the High Court Bar Association (HCBA), will extend into Thursday following a decision made during an HCBA meeting. Delegation leaders Anil Tiwari and Vikrant Pandey expressed the lawyers' concerns to Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and senior judges, but no positive assurances were provided.
The HCBA executive committee met at 3 pm, deciding to continue their work boycott on July 11. They criticized certain court behaviors as harmful to justice administration and resolved to issue notices to lawyers ignoring the HCBA mandate while thanking those who supported the movement.
